Raised in Dallas, Texas and now based in Philadelphia, PA, Amaya Howard is a former athlete, traveler, and community builder. She created Sports Shawties to give women access to sports experiences that are welcoming, fun, and intentionally designed to bring the community together.

THE STORY BEHIND THE SHAWTIES
Its roots trace back over eight years to a side chat for NFL fans, where a small group of women created a space to share their passion for sports without judgment. These “sisters” started planning in-person meetups, and that tight-knit energy inspired Amaya to grow a global, inclusive community for women who love sports and travel.
Sports Shawties connects women through curated sports and travel experiences. Our goal is to create vibrant spaces, at live events, watch parties, and trips, where women can be their authentic selves, share their passion, and celebrate together. We simplify travel logistics, support women’s sports, and build community, one unforgettable experience at a time.
